Prop 22 Guarantee (California)
A practical Prop 22 estimator for gig drivers. Enter the numbers from your pay statement and see whether you may be owed an adjustment.
Inputs
Enter your engaged hours/miles/earnings for this period.
Minimum wages change often. Always confirm your current local minimum wage.
“Engaged time” usually means time spent on trips/deliveries (not waiting).
Use the per-mile rate shown in your platform’s Prop 22 breakdown for the period.
Tips usually don’t count toward the Prop 22 guarantee.
Use the value your platform uses for Prop 22 (often called “engaged earnings” or “earnings excluding tips”).
Where do I find these numbers?
Most platforms show a Prop 22 section on your weekly or biweekly statement. Look for terms like “engaged time”, “active time”, “engaged miles”, or “mileage reimbursement”.
Tips: If you only have total online hours, that’s not the same as engaged/active hours — engaged is usually lower.
We’ll compare your engaged earnings (excluding tips) vs the Prop 22 guarantee.
